CARRIO, PETER,58, passed away at his home in Bakersfield. He was born and raised in Santa Rosa where he graduated from Santa Rosa High School, Class of ’71. Pete was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy, aboard the U.S.S. Horne. He retired from the San Diego Gas and Electric after 17 years, his last position as a service locator. Due to military service related disabilities, Peter retired and made his home in Bakersfield, enjoying his friends and the desert climate. Peter was proud of his Coast Miwok American Indian heritage and was a member of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. He was looking forward to achieve his status as an elder in the tribe. Peter is survived by his brothers, Butch Frease, San Jose, Daniel Parker,Sonoma, David Carrio, Phoenix, AZ, Frank Carrio, Paoli, IN and Theodore Carrio, San Diego; uncle Anthony Elgin, aunts, Rita Carrillo and Dula Olivarez, all of Santa Rosa. Pete was uncle, and great uncle to several nieces, and nephews of whom he dearly loved and cherished; also a great number of cousins and other relative who were a major part of his childhood adventures. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank(Sam) and Juanita (Galina) Carrion; siblings Richard Andrews and Allen Joseph Parker.
Peter will be remembered by family and friends for his wit, zest for life and his desire for everybody to be safe, happy and enjoy a “good time”.
His family wishes to thank all those who have expressed their sympathy and cheerful memories which Pete would want us to remember of him.
